BURNING STAR gave the Greely family their first Travers win in 1937. Later that year, BURNING STAR finished second to Seabiscuit in the Riggs Hadicap at Pimlico. John Greely Sr. and BURNING STAR also combined to win the first ever Seven Furlong Stakes at historic Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
